The short version: Intake is a free in-browser diagnostic tool. Use it however you want. Don't sue us if a test result doesn't match real-world behavior. We make no guarantees, and your test results are informational — not a substitute for professional repair, manufacturer diagnostics, or legal advice.
Use of the service
Intake is provided free of charge for personal, commercial, or any other lawful use. You may use it to test devices you own, to verify devices before buying or selling, to triage repairs, or for internal QC at your business. There is no usage limit and no signup.
You agree not to use Intake for any unlawful purpose, to attempt to disrupt or attack the service, or to use it in any way that violates the rights of others.
"As-is" disclaimer
The service is provided as-is, without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement.
A test failing on Intake doesn't necessarily mean your hardware is broken. It can mean drivers are out of date, your browser is blocking permissions, the audio output is on a different device, or there's a software-level issue. Likewise, a test passing here doesn't guarantee the hardware will work in every application or under all conditions.
Intake is a quick-check tool, not a replacement for a manufacturer diagnostic or a qualified technician.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the operators of Intake are not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages arising out of or in connection with your use of the service. This includes — but is not limited to — decisions you make based on test results: replacing a working device, keeping a broken one, paying too much for a used device, listing a device for sale at the wrong price, or skipping a needed repair.
You use the service at your own risk and at your own discretion.
Privacy
Your privacy is covered by our Privacy page. The short version: nothing leaves your browser.
Intellectual property
The Intake name, logo, design, and code are the property of their respective owner. You're free to use the service for any lawful purpose, but please don't clone the page wholesale and pass it off as your own.

We may update these terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent change. Continued use of Intake after a change means you accept the updated terms.
