Privacy

How Intake handles — and doesn't handle — your data.

Last updated: May 2026

The short version: nothing leaves your device. The tests run entirely in your browser. We don't have an account system, we don't ask for an email, and we don't store anything you do here.

What we don't collect

No personal data. No camera footage. No audio recordings. No keystrokes or typing patterns. No device fingerprints. No tracking pixels.

How the tests work

Every test runs locally in your browser using standard web APIs:

If you close or refresh the page, every test resets and any state in memory is gone.

Permissions

The microphone and webcam tests need your browser's permission. When you grant access, the streams are used only to power the live preview and meter on this page. They are not stored, not uploaded, and not shared with anyone — not us, not third parties.

You can revoke camera or microphone access at any time from your browser's site settings.

Cookies and storage

Intake doesn't use cookies. We don't write to your browser's local storage. There's no session to track because there's nothing to track.

Analytics

We may use privacy-preserving, aggregate analytics to count page views and understand which tests are most useful. Any analytics provider we use is configured to not collect IP addresses, fingerprints, or personal identifiers. We do not share data with advertisers.

Children

Intake is a free, public utility. It is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone, including children.

Changes

If our practices change, we'll update this page and the date at the top. There's no mailing list to notify because we don't have your email.
